A Gastonia man is standing trial on charges that he was found with more than a dozen dogs used for dog fighting, at times neglecting them by failing to take them to the vet after they were injured.

A Burnley man who allowed his two dogs to hunt wildlife, including foxes and badgers, has been banned from keeping animals for five years.
