Apple today seeded the third betas of upcoming iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 updates to developers for testing purposes, with the software coming a week after Apple released the second betas. Registered developers can download the betas from the Settings app on the iPhone or iPad by going to the General section and selecting Software Update.
"This update provides bug fixes for your iPhone," Apple wrote in the update's release notes. While it's unclear which bugs iOS 26.4.1 fixes, the update does appear to enable Stolen Device Protection on iPhones that don't have the security feature on already.
Apple's iOS 26.4 update includes several under-the-radar features that improve everyday iPhone use, though many of the most useful changes are easy to miss.
iOS 26.4.1 is available now with build number 23E254. iPhone users can head to the Settings app, choose General, then choose Software Update to install it.
OS 26.5 brings security and stability updates with an estimated 10–30 vulnerability fixes, plus broader privacy protections for iPhones.
