Here’s a look at the realtime Firefall conditions tonight in Yosemite National Park — 2/12/2026🔥 A slight glow was visible on Horsetail Fall — but clouds and limited water flow softened the effect. Was it worth it to visit tonight? I think so—but let me know your thou in the comments below👇 🔥 Firefall depends on three key factors: • Clear western sky • Strong sunset angle • Enough waterfall flow When all three align — that’s when the “lava glow” really shows. The rare Yosemite firefall 🔥 "Firefall happens every February, from mid-February until the end of the month. It's a natural phenomenon where sunset light illuminates a waterfall, creating a brilliant effect like lava. In order for it to happen there's 2 main things that need to align - first, we need enough water flow on Horsetail Fall, and second, we need clear skies at sunset. When I arrived to Yosemite to photograph the firefall, it was cloudy with no signs of clearing. I decided to still gi

I chased Firefall last night for the first time in 4 years, and got extremely lucky with the conditions. What looked to be a washed out evening ended up being one of the best Firefall scenes I’ve seen yet. Even with some passing rain, the conditions aligned perfectly. If you’re coming out to see it this year, check out @firefallranch, literally named after this epic event, and my favorite hotel in all of California. By far the best place to stay 🛏️ For those who don’t know what this is: A few w

⬇️ Firefall Guide ⬇️ I couldn't believe my eyes 🥹 📍 Firefall in Yosemite National Park (filmed on 2/15/24) Here's everything you need to know to see the firefall yourself: 🔥 Firefall is a natural phenomenon that happens in Yosemite National Park in February when sun shines at Horsetail Fall during sunset, making it glow. 🗓️ The best time to see firefall is mid to late February so you still have a bit more than a week this year! 🎫 Reservations are required on weekends (Feb 17–19 and 24–25)

Firefall season has officially begun in Yosemite…and tonight was one of the first potential viewing evenings of the year. I filmed this timelapse of El Capitan and Horsetail Fall in real time so you can see exactly what conditions looked like. Clouds moved in just before sunset — blocking the light that creates the glowing “Firefall” effect. That’s the part many people don’t realize… Firefall isn’t guaranteed. It requires: • Flowing water in Horsetail Fall • Clear western skies • The right sunse

Yosemite’s famous firefall is expected to take place this month, and for the first time in a while, no reservations required! The ephemeral phenomenon happens yearly, but only when the conditions are just right: the sun sets directly behind Horsetail Falls, making it look like the water is on fire. If it happens, it’ll be between Feb. 10-26 this year, as long as clouds don’t obscure the sun. For the past three years, reservations have been required to prevent crowds from trampling the meadows, p

This Natural Phenomenon Makes Water Look Like Flowing Lava? Each February, Yosemite’s Horsetail Fall transforms into a natural spectacle known as the “firefall,” when the setting sun hits the seasonal waterfall at just the right angle to make it glow like molten lava. This fiery illusion is not due to any geological anomaly, but a perfect alignment of physics and timing. For a few fleeting minutes, the sun’s low-angle rays pass through the western horizon and strike the waterfall, which must als

Pacific Adventure Club on Instagram: "Yosemite is not requiring reservations for the famous Firefall event this year! How do you feel about it? Every February, something incredible happens in Yosemite National Park — a waterfall appears to catch fire. This phenomenon is called the Firefall, and it’s 100% natural. Here’s what causes it: The Perfect Angle of Light: As the sun sets in mid–late February, it hits Horsetail Fall at just the right angle. The light turns the falling water bright orange
