THE YEAR OF THE VILLAIN…Batman/Joker inspired portrait. Part 2! Apologies for dragging this series out. The long drying times of oil paints are proving quite tricky to work around. Loving the process so far though! Very satisfying when it goes to plan, torturous process when it doesn’t! I’m learning though! Each colour has different properties regarding drying time and opacity. The earthy colours dry quite quick whereas the blacks and whites (which this painting predominantly are) seem to drag!

Start of my first ever oil painting. Measuring a nice bit 18”x24” Serious learning curve this one. There’s bound to be mistakes I make along the way but that’s all part of learning something new. Going for a Joker Batman today. As if the Joker has stolen the Batsuit and is wearing it to antagonise Batman. I’ll explain the comic reference more in part 2!
